Notice of Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Australian Blouza Association Inc. to elect a new committee will be held on Wednesday, 7 May 2008 at the Blouza Community Centre at 157 Blaxcell Street Granville, commencing 7.30pm. See Election Results.

The Association needs new members to join and help in the running of the organisation.

Property Update & Collections

Blouza Community Centre – 157 Blaxcell Street

We are still awaiting our plans to be approved by Parramatta Council, although we expect this to be within four weeks, pending the completion of a required traffic report. This has been requested by Council as a result of our plans for cars to enter the Blouza Community Centre from Blaxcell Street to exist from Redfern Street

Unfortunately, the planned settlement of the Good Street property did not proceed by January 2008 as intended. However, whilst on-going negotiations are continuing with several parties, the Association will be taking steps to place the property back on the market for sale. If you are interested in the property or indeed are aware of anyone who is, please contact Ray Wehbe Wehbe on 0418 298 836.

The delay in the sale of the Good Street has placed strained on the Association’s finances. Whilst we believe this is short term, we are working closely with our Banker, looking to raise much needed funds through functions, and continuing with our Building Fund collections.

Building Fund Collections

As mentioned in our last bulletin in November 2007, the Association is planning to send out contribution reminders to all households by mail in the next couple of weeks. This will set out the amount you have contributed to date and if applicable, the amount of your next installment. A return envelope will also be enclosed for payment. Please note, that collectors for your area will also be calling on you.
